Elden Ring DLC Strength-Faith Build Guide

Dec-18-2024 PST Category: Elden Ring
Hello everyone, and welcome to an Elden Ring DLC build guide. Today, I'm excited to share with you an updated version of one of my favorite builds - the Strength-Faith build. This hybrid build retains the sheer power of a pure Strength character while introducing the versatility and utility provided by Faith scaling. As you gather Elden Ring Runes throughout your journey, you’ll find that the recent DLC offers a range of powerful weapons and strategies to enhance your gameplay. Let’s get started!

Build Overview

The Strength-Faith Build focuses on maximizing damage output through heavy weapons while also leveraging potent Faith-based abilities. Here’s how you can set up your character for optimal performance.

Stat Allocation

· Strength: 54

· Faith: Minimum required for your chosen weapons (generally around 20). Wearing the Circlet of Light grants you an extra point in Faith, which can be very handy.

This stat distribution allows you to wield any heavy-infused weapon and access a wide range of strength-faith scaling weapons.

Key Weapons

1. Death Knight Twin Aes

· Description: A pair of axes with an excellent standard moveset. While their basic attacks may not pack a punch, the Blink Bolt Twin Axe Ash of War is incredibly effective for closing gaps against fleeing opponents.

2. Great Sword of Damnation

· Description: Think of this as a powerhouse version of the Claymore. With a critical grab Ash of War, it excels at punishing opponents while dealing significant damage. It’s a definite must-have for this build!

3. Devonia Hammer

· Description: The Devonia Hammer shines when fully charged. The Devonia Vortex attack deals tremendous damage but can be a bit slow. However, it’s perfect for punishing aggressive opponents who try to trade blows with you.

Talismans

Choosing the right talismans can significantly enhance your build. Here are my recommendations:

· Shard of Alexander: Boosts the effectiveness of all your Ashes of War, maximizing damage output.

· Godfrey Icon: Increases the potency of charged spells and skills, making it a great alternative for heavy weapon builds.

You can swap between the Two-Handed Sword Talisman and Godfrey Icon based on your weapon choice for invasions.

Strategies for Invasions

Jumping into invasions with this build can be incredibly rewarding. Let’s review some key strategies:

· Keep Pressure: Use the agility of your weapons to keep opponents on the back foot. The quick closing capability of the Blink Bolt will prevent them from escaping.

· Utilize Mix-ups: Combine heavy attacks with spells and Ashes of War to confuse your opponents. The Devonia Hammer can stop aggressive players in their tracks—charge it in a corner and surprise them!

· Read Your Opponents: Pay attention to their dodging patterns and adapt your attacks accordingly. If you can bait them into a trade, the high damage potential of your weapons will often come out on top.

· Heal Wisely: Use healing items strategically during fights but don't overcommit. Sometimes, a tactical retreat to heal is the best play!

In-Game Highlights

Throughout my recent invasions, I've had some exciting encounters:

1. Team Dynamics: In one instance, I encountered a team of three players. By using Blink Bolt to maneuver and stay mobile, I quickly isolated and dispatched foes using the Devonia Hammer's powerful charged attack.

2. 1v1 Showdowns: In another case against a skilled opponent using Madness, I executed a perfectly timed backstab, demonstrating the importance of timing and positioning.

3. Ambushes with Weapons: I’ve capitalized on the element of surprise, utilizing environment advantages like ledges and corners to execute lethal charged attacks.

4. Overall, each encounter provides valuable insights on how to maximize the build’s potential.

Conclusion

That's it for my in-depth guide to the Strength-Faith build from Elden Ring's latest DLC. This build effectively combines the best of both worlds: brute strength and powerful Faith abilities, making for a dynamic and fun playstyle.
